Staff from the Limestone District School Board's Gould Lake Outdoor Centre recently completed their annual marathon paddle from Kingston to Ottawa to help raise funds to support students who may not otherwise be able to attend Gould Lake programs.

The 'Storm the Hill Challenge' involves staff paddling non-stop more than 150 kilometers in under 36 hours along the Rideau Canal from Bedford Mills to Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

This year the team really embraced the 'Storm' in Storm the Hill, braving the rain fora large section of the paddle. Despite the weather, this year's group broke the previous record and made the trek in 27 hours and 40 minutes!

Currently, over $6000 has been raised. You can donate to this year's event by going to sth.gouldlake.ca

The Gould Lake Outdoor Centre provides environmental and experiential education programs for elementary and secondary students. During the school year, classes participate in outdoor programs ranging from pond studies to canoeing and from winter cookouts to team building. In the summer, Gould Lake provides curriculum-based credit programs for students delivered through canoe, hiking and kayak trips.
